Manchester United: Three big matches unbeaten since that 4-1 loss at Watford, and now with Rangnick leading the way. We’ll quickly get an idea of the players he sees fit for his system, though that might come more midweek in the Champions League. Still, we can expect a renewed confidence, energy and organization in a team hoping to turn the corner and prove they can contend. Jadon Sancho is one to watch, having scored two goals in the last three games after failing to score in his first 13 games at the club.
Crystal Palace: Patrick Vieira’s team has hit a rough patch after the back-to-back wins over Manchester City and Wolves. A draw to Burnley and losses to Aston Villa and Leeds see this team now trying to find some consistency on both ends of the pitch. On Tuesday against Leeds, they allowed a 94th-minute penalty kick on a silly handball. The issue in that one was what they didn’t accomplish in attack. Out of their nine shots, just one went on frame, with Christian Benteke inexplicably missing a wide-open header at the back post. With United dealing with injuries in defense, they’ll feel confident in being able to score here and take something from it if they can be a bit sharper.
Cristiano Ronaldo scores one and assists another as the Red Devils pick up three points. Pick: Man United 2, Palace 1
