Mikel Arteta reaches 100 games as Arsenal manager on Sunday afternoon as Watford make the short trip to the Emirates Stadium.

Despite a difficult start to the season, there is now genuine hope of challenging for Champions League qualification after a run of four wins in six games in what has been perhaps the most convincing period of Arteta’s project.

In years gone by, a home game against a side struggling towards the bottom of the league might have represented somewhat of a banana skin for Arsenal. Still, this is a group of young players who aren’t haunted by the problems of previous campaigns and, given their recent run of form, it’s hard to look past anything but a home win.

Claudio Ranieri’s side have been leaking goals all season and, with Arsenal impressing against Aston Villa and Leicester City of late, might struggle to deal with the intensity of their hosts.
