Chicago Fire Fluff. There’s no better way to battle the #cf97Withdrawals…
Welcome to OTF 2014, dear reader!
So here I am in the middle of the Polar Vortex, still jet lagged after my trip Down Under (and seriously reconsidering my ill-timed return home to #Chiberia).
While I was away, I took in the A-League’s Melbourne derby, sunned with some Boxing Day test cricket in the world’s tenth largest stadium, flew in a helicopter over the Great Southern Ocean, fed a Tasmanian Devil, and, among other things, drank a lot of wine at cellar doors. You know, the usual summer fare in Australia.
Anyway, while catching up on my #cf97 news this evening, I came across this odd little gem at chicago-fire.com…
After having a chuckle, I thought to myself, “Hey, a screen shot of Mike Magee looking creeped out by Thespian Stalker/Team Writer Jeff Crandall would be perfect for a Twitter caption contest (and perhaps my desktop wallpaper)!”
Loyal fans obliged with an array of amusing, bewildering, and saccharine responses (check the @OnTheFire97 feed), including OTF friend and Hot Time In Old Town writer Adam Merges, whom I took the liberty to quote in the header caption. Cheers, Adam.
I had a go myself, meme style, and this is what I came up with…
And then I got to thinking a bit more…
You see, after about a year and a half of renegade soccer blogging and Twitter shenanigans, OTF has assembled a fine archive of images upon which this new, innovative parody hashtag will appropriately bear its mark.
So sit back, scroll down, and have a look at OTF’s Top Twenty #cf97Uncomfortables, in no particular order.
Is it March yet, pray tell?
